Research Smaug the Dragon X Elf!Reader Chap 2
You awoke to a loud rumbling noise, Smaug was rolling over in his sleep again. You had had the strangest dreams about your parents, they seemed so happy, sitting at the table with the royal family…without you. It upset you, but you weren't too upset, you knew from the start you never fit in there. You looked at the sleeping Smaug. "I wonder what dragons dream of." You whispered to yourself. Remembering you hadn't finished your sketch, you quickly got out your tools. As you got them out of your bag, your book on dragon anatomy fell out of your pack. You scrambled for it, but it was too late, it tumbled over the edge of the broken bridge, and hit a pile of coins, the sound echoed loudly. Smaug made more rumbling noises, and you could hear the sound of a thousand gold coins falling. It occurred to you that you had accidentally woken up the most terrifying creature in all of middle earth. So, shouldn't you be scared? Oddly enough what you were wasn't fear, but intact excitement. You calmly sat on the edge of the bridge, swinging your legs.
"WHO DARES WAKE THE GREAT, FIREY DEATH KNOWN TO MORTALS AS SMAUG?!!!!" Said the great beast, looking around for the trespasser. "Woah, someone's not a morning person." you whispered, then giggled at yourself. Here you were in the presence of the most terrifying creature, whose currently furious, and the only thing you can think of is that he's not a morning person. What was wrong with you? Lost in your own thought, you didn't realize he had spotted the book, its ancient red leather binding, standing out against the shining gold. From the book, he slowly looked up, until his massive head was level with your sitting spot. "WHO ARE YOU? A PETTY THEIF? AN IDIOTIC HERO?!" He bellowed, his breath smelled like burnt meat, and chili peppers. You stood up quickly, and bowed low. "No your Fiery Deathness, I am an elf, I have come here of my own accord, because I wanted to meet you." You blushed a little, but stood straight, looking him in his massive golden eyes. 'He's more beautiful than I ever imagined.' You thought, which just made you blush more. 'Man, now you knew how those girls who fanned over your cousin, Legolas felt.' You thought.
Smaug looked you up and down, curious to as what strange creature had wondered into his domain. This little mortal didn't cower in fear like most…why? He contemplated just killing her and going back to sleep, but it had been a long time since he's had any entertainment. 'Maybe I will keep this little mortal alive for a little longer.' He thought. "So, you have met me, what is it you want now?" He asked casually. She shuffled, but not out of fear he noticed, she was…oh what do the mortals call it? Blushing! Yes thats it, she was blushing. As heartless, and proud as Smaug was, he did read books on mortals sometimes. After all he'd been alone for a very long time. Granted he'd been sleeping through these past years, but even before taking the dwarves' mountain he had been alone. Thinking about his past, he realized he didn't actually have anyone to talk to. It was rare to see other dragons, and everyone else was either afraid of him, or was trying to kill him. When he was young, and naive, he had attempted to make friends, but everyone was afraid and hated him. After awhile he decided to stop trying, if they wanted a terrifying beast that caused havoc, then that would be what he would do. After he made that decision, he realized it hurt less to be hated, because you wanted to be. And that gold and jewels made better companions than any living being, they'd never judge him. He was lost in thought, not realizing the little elf had sat down, and was drawing him once again.
'His scales are beautiful' you thought to yourself as you sketched him. He seemed to have lost interest in you at the moment. He had completely forgotten he had asked you a question. Which was good, because you had a million questions for him, and couldn't pick just one. You wanted to know so much about dragons, about the species, about him…'No, no, no, get those thoughts right out of your head! He's a dragon, thousands of years old, you're an elf, it'd never work' You chided yourself, continuing to sketch him. It was coming out really well done, though you couldn't quite capture his eyes, they were just so amazing, and held so much, you'd have to study them for days to get them right. You felt his gaze on you, his warm breath brushing your skin. He was watching you draw, probably curious to as what you were up to.
"What's that you've got there?" He asked, trying to get in closer without knocking you over. You giggled, holding your sketchbook close. 'He's so childish.' You thought. "Well, if you back up a little I'll show you." you giggled. He looked at you with surprise then grudgingly backed up. You flipped the sketchbook around and showed him your unfinished drawing, blushing. Smaug was quiet for a long time, what was probably minutes felt like hours. "Is this me?" He asked, he sounded more curious than angry. "Y-yes." You stuttered. You couldn't tell, but he looked like he was smirking. "I'm rather handsome aren't I?" He said, grinning proudly. At this you blushed more and brought the sketchbook back into your lap. "Yeah, but it doesn't really capture your eyes, I'm afraid I'm not that good of an artist."You said shyly.
Smaug thought for a long time. "Would it be easier if I leaned down to your height?" He asked, putting his head level with the mortal. "It'd be a shame if such a handsome drawing wasn't able to be finished." He said, grinning. You blushed, staring into those big golden eyes, that seem to hold their very own universe. You began drawing again, you could feel his gaze as your hand danced across the page. Every once in awhile you looked back at him. You caught him a few times, pretending he wasn't staring at you. 'How cute! he's embarrassed.' You thought. Finally you finished, and proudly showed the great dragon your masterpiece. "I look amazing." He said, marveling at his own beauty. "I want to keep it, with the rest of my treasures." He said, looking at you seriously. You smiled big. "On one condition, you let me stay here and study you a little longer." You took the page from your sketchbook and handed it to him. He looked at it, then at you. "Very well." He said.

You awoke to a loud, angry sounding, grumbling. You raised your head from Smaug’s tanned muscular chest. You gazed around with confusion, and a bit of fear. The sound came again, you looked to its source. You felt silly when you realized it was Smaug’s stomach, being amplified by the cavern. You giggled, rubbing your hand over his barren, lightly haired chest, down to his stomach. You rubbed your hand in slow circles in an attempt to calm the beast within. Your hands lingered, playin

I stared at the torn piece of parchment in my hand, given to me by my professor, upon my departure from the college. Messily scrawled in ink was the address to the painter I'd be working under for the rest of the semester. I held my hand to my brow as I gazed upward, against the afternoon sun. The building where he resided didn't appear to be much, for the home of a famous prodeje. There were large beige sheets draped over the unfinished sections of th

"No, no, no this isn't right!" The Doctor yelled in frustration as his ever fickle TARDIS wheezed, creaked, groaned, and shook. He continues to run around the complicated control panel, throwing levers, pushing buttons, and occasionally checking the monitor. A small purple hued planet was coming into view. He didn't have much time, she was pulling his ship down and he couldn't fight it anymore.
"Doctor, what is going on?" A thick Scottish accent rings through the chaos. Out of one of the TARDIS's m
